Week of March 30 to April 2

Feature Writing
All students should begin reading their nonfiction texts, taking notes, and preparing to discuss content and style used by each individual author. All work will be completed in class this week.

English 11
Students will review on Monday for Hamlet Act II, covering plot, characters, and other literary devices; study guides for scenes i and ii will be due at this time. The Act II quiz will be given on Tuesday 3/31. Students will continue reading Act III for the remainder of the week and will be responsible for completing the corresponding study guide questions.

Practical English 12
Students will review for Chapters 9-12 of Lord of the Flies with a quiz to follow on Tuesday 3/31. Students will then begin working on lists of possible research topics to be submitted for approval on Thursday 4/2.

Honors English 10
Readings for To Kill a Mockingbird are as follows: Chapters 2&3 (Monday 3/30), Chapter 4 (Wednesday 4/1), Chapters 5&6 (Monday 4/6), Chapters 7-9 (Wednesday 4/8), Chapters 10-11 (Friday 4/10). While reading, students should take detailed notes on characterization, plot, setting, motifs and symbols. Notebooks will be checked randomly and pop quizzes will occur.

Journalism
Students will begin learning terms associated with broadcast journalism. Assignments will be completed in class. A quiz on the unit will be given on Thursday 4/2.
