Week of October 31 to November 4

Broadcast Journalism
Students will continue finishing the first round of independent projects, work for the school-wide Veteran's Day program, and work on the studio. All work will be completed during class.

Honors English 10
Students will continue to follow the reading schedule for Fahrenheit 451 which will be posted in class. Paradox assignments will be due Monday 10/31. Part II of the novel will be assigned throughout the next week, and students will begin planning for the Propaganda group project. Specific details on the project will be discussed later in the week. Quizzes for Vocabulary list 2 will be given on Friday 11/4.

Advanced Writing
Students will workshop Cheque by Ordeal stories. Following the workshop, students will begin working on punctuation usage in writing.

Practical English 10
Students will continue reading Part II of Fahrenheit 451 and completing the corresponding study guide. Students will also begin work on Phrases, beginning with prepositional, then moving into verbals (participial, gerund, infinitive). Vocabulary 3 Quiz will be given on Friday 11/4.

Week of October 24 to October 28

Broadcast Journalism
Students will continue working on the Quarterly Community Newsletter. All work for the newsletter is due on Thursday 10/27. Students will also begin working on the hybrid program for Veteran's Day.

Honors English 10
Students will read the following pages in Fahrenheit 451 for class discussions:
Mon 10/24 (18-32), Tues 10/25 (32-40), Thur 10/27 (41-52), Mon 10/31 (52-68).
Worksheets and sentences for the Lesson 2 Vocabulary will be due Friday 10/28.

Advanced Writing
Students will continue to work on Ordeal by Cheque and will submit the writing by Sunday 10/30.

Practical English 10
Students will read passages of Fahrenheit 451 in class and will complete the corresponding Study Guide questions. Study guides for Part I will be due Friday 10/28. Vocabulary HW for List 4 will also be due on Friday 10/28. Worksheets for phrases will be due the day after each is assigned.

Week of October 17 to October 21

Broadcast Journalism
Students will continue working on independent beat projects and will work collectively on the Election piece, and the community newsletter. All writing for the newsletter must be submitted by Wednesday 10/26.

Honors English 10
Students will complete the Unit Test for Short Stories on Monday 10/17. Discussion on dystopian genre and background for Fahrenheit 451 will follow on Tuesday. Students will be responsible for reading Part One of F451 by Wednesday 10/26.

Advanced Writing
Students will begin the Ordeal by Cheque project. Outlines will be due by Wednesday 10/19 and first drafts will be due on Monday 10/24.

Practical English 10
Students will begin Fahrenheit 451 on Monday. Background and discussion on Dystopia will begin. All worksheets for Part One will be due the day after it is assigned. Vocabulary Quizzes for Lesson 3 will be given on Monday 10/17.

Week of October 11 to October 14

Broadcast Journalism
Students will film final segments for the bullying video. Groups must also schedule equipment for individual stories. All individual stories must be filmed, edited, and submitted no later than October 28th.

Honors English 10
Students must submit Literary Response Journals 2 & 3 on Tuesday October 11th. PowerPoint notes for Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket will also be due Tuesday. PowerPoint Notes for A Problem will be due Friday. The creative writing project for Masque of the Red Death will also be due Friday October 14th.

Advanced Writing
Students must submit the Vocabulary Writing; this writing will not be workshopped. Class time and homework will focus on mini grammar lessons. All worksheets must be submitted on Friday October 14th.

Practical Literature 10
Students will review all five of the short stories on Tuesday with the test to follow on Thursday October 13th. Students will then begin a discussion on Dystopia prior to the reading of the novel Fahrenheit 451

Practical English 10
Students will begin Object & Complement breakdowns with daily charting for data and growth. A unit test will not occur until next week. All corresponding worksheets will be collected and graded the day after each is distributed. Vocabulary 3 homework will be due on Friday October 14th.

Week of October 3 to October 7

Broadcast Journalism
Students must submit proposals for individual segments by Wednesday 10/5. Students should work collectively on research for the bullying presentation for the remainder of the week. Students will quiz on Chapter 4 of the textbook on Friday 10/7.

Honors English 10
Students will submit all work for Masque of the Red Death by Tuesday 10/4. Vocabulary quiz for Lesson 1B will be given on Friday 10/7. Packets for Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket and A Problem will be due on Tuesday 10/11.

Advanced Writing
Students will work on punctuation, specifically comma usage. All corresponding worksheets will be due Friday 10/7.

Practical Literature 10
A quiz on Parts of Speech will be given on Monday 10/3. Packets for Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket will be due on Tuesday 10/4. Work for A Problem will be due on Friday 10/7. A Vocabulary quiz on Lesson 2 will also be given on Friday 10/7.
