Week of March 16 to March 20

Feature Writing
Students will discuss proposals for the immersion journalism project as a class and will offer constructive feedback to peers to help each individual maximize the focus and strength of their projects. Students must also find a nonfiction book over 200 pages and submit it to me for approval by Thursday 3/19. Students will also be responsible for drafting a memoir that will be due on Friday 3/20.

English 11
This week's in-class readings of Hamlet will include: Monday (Act I, scene iii and Act I, scene iv), Tuesday (continuation of Act I, scene iv), Wednesday (Act I, scene v). Thursday will include a review of all information covered in Act I with a quiz to follow on Friday 3/20. Vocabulary Homework for list 5B will be due on Wednesday 3/18.

Practical English 12
Students will turn in all completed study guide answers for Lord of the Flies Chapters 5-8 on Monday at the beginning of class. A quiz on Part II of the novel will be given on Tuesday 3/17. Readings will continue immediately after the quiz and will last the duration of the week. Homework for Vocabulary list 3 will be due on Wednesday 3/18.

Honors English 10
Students will submit the completed thesis statements on Monday. This week will be dedicated to the first draft of the research paper. Students are expected to bring all necessary materials to class and must be working on their papers at all times during this week. The first draft must be submitted as a hard copy or via email by the beginning of class on Monday 3/23. Homework for Vocabulary list 8A will be due on Wednesday 3/18.

Journalism
Students will begin working on terminology for the Typography unit. Each daily assignment must be submitted for the end of the school day. Homework will consist of preparing for the quiz which will be given on Thursday 3/19.
