Week of August 29 to September 2

Welcome back!

During the first week of school, students are still becoming acclimated with classroom expectations and new daily procedures. Homework is limited this week; however, students will have some assignments. This amount will change as we progress throughout the year. Students in all classes will be asked to reply to another post (titled "POST HERE" on my Homework Helpline page before Tuesday Sept. 6 to ensure that all students have access to information posted on this resource. As far as the week is concern the class below should complete the following assignments:

English 11
Students will be required to take notes during class on common literary devices used in higher level thinking and analysis of literature. Students will have assignments which will be completed in class, but will also be expected to study these terms for a Quiz that will be held on Wed. Sept 7. This Friday also begins Lesson One of the vocabulary series. Students are given time in class to define the list of words and write sentences for each. Any work that is not completed in class will become homework.

Journalism
Students should bring in old issues of newspapers for an activity involving the 6 basic categories of news coverage. Students will also take notes on the What is News PowerPoint and should familiarize themselves with the terminology for a test TBA.

Honors English 10
All students are reminded to return Summer Reading novels.

SAT Prep
All work will be completed in class this week.

Please check back for next week's announcements!
