English 11
Students will complete a Test on all Unit 1 information Tuesday Sept. 28. A review game was done in advance and students have received review sheets. Students will be given study guides for the reading of Arthur Miller's The Crucible. Dates will vary for study guides due to multiple sections that follow the reading. Study guides will carry a point value and must be done for homework. The Vocabulary 2 quiz will be given on Friday Sept. 30.
Journalism
Students will review parts of a newspaper and will have a quiz to follow on Tuesday Sept. 27. Students will also begin focusing on obituaries and will be required to write two samples: a celebrity example will be due Friday Sept. 30 and an obituary about each student's own life will be due Tuesday Oct. 4.
Honors English 10
Students will continue reading pieces of the short story unit. New readings this piece will feature Anton Chekov's A Problem and Jack Finney's Contents of a Dead Man's Pockets. Students will submit a POV writing assignment pertaining to Masque of the Red Death on Tuesday Sept. 27. Vocabulary 1B Quiz will be given on Friday Sept. 30.
SAT Prep
All work will be completed in class.
