Week of December 14 to December 18

Honors English 10
Students will submit the Propaganda Project Videos on Monday 12/14. Students will begin working on the grammar unit, starting with a brief review of parts of speech. Students will then work on Objects and Complements, followed by Verbal Phrases. Throughout the unit students will be given practice worksheets and will have five quizzes: Objects/Complements, Prepositional Phrases, Participles, Gerunds, and Infinitives. These elements will be tested cumulatively on the midterm.

Honors English 12
Students will begin reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. To begin students will read about the myth of Prometheus and will discuss their preconceived ideas about the novel due to its prevalence in popular culture. Once students begin reading, they will make comparisons to Bram Stoker's Dracula in terms of the novels' content and presentation.

Advanced Writing
Students will spend the week writing memoirs to be included in the final portfolio. A total of three memoirs must be submitted and will be themed on specific topics given in class.

Practical Literature 10
Students will begin reading Act III of Julius Caesar and will complete the corresponding study guide. During this act, students will focus on types of persuasion through pathos and logos and will be required to write two brief samples exercising both types of persuasion. Act IV will follow immediately after.

Practical English 10
Students will learn information about outlining and will be given resources regarding MLA format for the research paper. Outlines will be by Thursday 12/17; once outlines are reviewed and returned, students will begin drafting the paper.
