Week of December 1 to December 4

Honors English 10
Students will finish the final three readings of Fahrenheit 451; class discussions will coincide with each reading and the final study guide will be due on Monday 12/7. Homework for the vocabulary list will be due on Wednesday 12/2. Students should also continue working on the group Propaganda project that will be submitted on 12/14. This week students will also be assigned an independent writing project involving characterization and a parallel text, also due on 12/14. The final test on Fahrenheit 451 will be given on Monday 12/7.

Honors English 12
Students will finish reading Act III of Macbeth but will not take a test until after the completion of Act IV's reading. The combined tests will be given on Friday 12/11.

Advanced Writing
Students will submit a final piece for the November novel sessions and will begin on Poetry. Students must complete two examples of found poetry; one example will be constructed from a page given to students while the second can be derived from a page of their choice. Both submissions will be due on Friday 12/4.

Practical Literature 10
Students will begin the unit on Shakespeare and dramatic tragedy. After an introduction on William Shakespeare, students will begin reading Julius Caesar. Study guides for Act I will be due on Monday 12/7.

Practical English 10
Students will continue working on Keys 5-10 in the Keystone prep book in preparation for the Keystone exams on 12/9 and 12/10. Students are also responsible to continue working on the research paper. Requirements of MLA standards of writing will be covered on Wednesday 12/2. Students will be given the opportunity throughout December to write the research paper.
