Feature Writing
Students will begin a drafting their early experiences in the Immersion Writing Projects. 3 blogs must be completed this week.
Honors English 10
Students will finish reading Part II of Fahrenheit 451 and will begin discussing propaganda. Projects will be assigned at the end of the week.
Academic English 9
Students will begin working on Verbal Phrases, starting with Participials. Daily worksheets will be given and will be collected as homework the following day. Romeo and Juliet projects will be assigned on Friday and will be due on Thursday 12/19.
Practical English 10
Students will begin reading Julius Caesar. Study guides for Act I will be due on Thursday 12/5.

Week of November 12 to November 15
Feature Writing
Students will discuss the Introduction and Chapter One of Fast Food Nation. Students will research information for the immersion project and will begin blogging daily with findings.
Honors English 10
Students will read Part One of Fahrenheit 451 and will complete the corresponding study guides and notes. A test on Part One will be given on Tuesday 11/19.
Academic English 9
Students will read Acts IV and V of Romeo and Juliet. Corresponding study guides must be completed and submitted at the completion of each act. a test on both acts will be given on Tuesday 11/19.
Practical English 10
Students will complete a test on Part III of Fahrenheit 451 on Tuesday 11/12 and will begin reading Harrison Bergeron. At the end of the week students will begin the grammar unit by taking a preassessment in class. Students will also be required to take the 2nd Benchmark on Pearson.

Students will read Act III of Romeo and Juliet. Students will be responsible for completing study guides after each scene.

Students will complete a test on Part II of Fahrenheit 451 on Tuesday 11/5. Students will continue reading Part III and should complete the novel by Friday and are responsible for completing the study guide.

Students will begin Unit 3, first focusing on mob mentality and The Lottery before moving into dystopia and Fahrenheit 451. Unit 1 projects will be due on Friday 11/1.
Academic English 9
Students will review Act II of Romeo and Juliet and will have a test on Tuesday 10/29. Following the test, students will work on their metaphor poems.
Practical English 10
Students will review for Part I of Fahrenheit 451 and will test on Tuesday 10/29. Students will be responsible for reading Part II and completing study guides in class.

Students will review for the Unit 1 Test. The Usher selection test is due on Tuesday for class discussion. Students will study for the Unit 1 Test (Monday 10/21), the LRJ (Friday 10/25) and the Unit Project (Monday 10/28).

Academic English 9
Students will read Act I of Romeo and Juliet. Study guide questions for each scene must be completed the day after the class reading has been done. A quiz on Act I will be given on Tuesday 10/8.
Practical English 10
Students will complete the Selection Test on The Fall of the House of Usher and will prepare for a test on Gothic Literature. The test will be given on Wednesday 10/2.
