Week of March 13 to March 17

Broadcast Journalism
Students will continue working on In the News and will prepare a small production team for coverage of the Schuylkill County Scholar Athlete Banquet on April 2nd.

Honors English 10
Students will review for the comprehensive test on To Kill a Mockingbird and will complete the assessment on the next full day of class. Due dates for projects will be adjusted following the impending storm that will disrupt the week.

Feature Writing
Students "Scar" stories must be submitted by Wednesday 3/15.

Week of March 6 to March 10

Broadcast Journalism
Students will continue planning segments for March. Individual podcast assignments will be explained and assigned. Due dates for each will be March 24th.

Honors English 10
Students will finish reading To Kill a Mockingbird this week. Chapters 25-27 will be due Monday 3/6 and Chapters 28-31 will be due Wednesday 3/8. A comprehensive test on the novel will be given Friday 3/10. The Abstract Adjective Character project will be submitted on Friday 3/17 and the Board Game project will be due on Monday 3/20.

Feature Writing
Students will begin working on a series of memoirs; the first will be due on Monday 3/13.

February 13 to February 16

Broadcast Journalism
Students will discuss ethics in journalism and will view the film Shattered Glass. Following the film, students will write a brief reaction about the importance of truth in the media.

Honors English 10
Students will continue an in-class analysis of To Kill a Mockingbird Chapters 9-11. There will be a test on Tuesday 2/15. Dates for upcoming readings (Chapters 12-18) will be given in class on Monday.

Feature Writing
Students will view the documentary Shenandoah and will draft a 1,000 word memoir reflecting on the pros and cons of growing up in Schuylkill County.

Week of February 6 to February 10

Broadcast Journalism
Students will continue working on current events and will work collectively to plan the 2/24 episode of In the News. Next week, second semester students will complete equipment tests.

Honors English 10
Students will complete CDTs on Monday and Tuesday during class but are still expected to keep up with the TKAM readings. Students are responsible for finishing Chapters 9, 10, and 11 by Wednesday 2/8. A test on Part I will be given on Monday 2/13. Vocabulary 6 Homework will be due on Friday 2/10.

Feature Writing
Students will submit Top 10 articles on Monday 2/6 and will then reverse their topic for a second Top 10 that will be due on Monday 2/13.

Week of January 30 to February 3

Broadcast Journalism
Students will submit News Review #2 on Friday 2/3. Students will also begin on news writing, focusing on leads. Students in the second semester course will also be responsible for taking the camera test by Monday 2/6.

Honors English 10
Students will discuss the MyPerspective assignments in class (pgs 130-131, 201-207) and will discuss archetypes. Readings for To Kill a Mockingbird are as follows: Tuesday - Chapters 5&6, Wednesday - Chapter 7, Thursday - Chapter 8. The Vocabulary 5 Quiz will be given on Friday 2/3.

Feature Writing
Students will submit their "How To" articles on Monday 1/30 and will begin working on the "Top 10" articles which will be due on Monday 2/6.

Week of January 9 to January 13

Broadcast Journalism
Students will begin working on video segments for next week's episode and will review for Midterms on Friday.

Honors English 10
Students will begin working on background information for To Kill a Mockingbird. Vocabulary 4 quiz will be given on Wednesday 1/11. Midterm review will be Friday.

Advanced Writing
Students will be responsible for reading peers' creative stories and preparing comments for final workshop on 1/17.

Practical English 10
Students will complete the Act IV & V quiz for Julius Caesar on Monday 1/9. Vocabulary 6 Quiz will be Wednesday 1/11. All late assignments must be turned in by Thursday 1/12 to receive any points; any assignments not submitted by this date will receive a grade of zero.

Week of January 3 to January 6

Broadcast Journalism
Students will finish last broadcast of the semester and will begin preparing for the midterm exam.

Honors English 10
Students will review verbal phrases in preparation for the Phrase test that will be given on Friday January 6th. Vocabulary quizzes will be postponed until Monday 1/9.

Practical English 10
Students will finish Acts IV and V of Julius Caesar and will test on the entire play on Thursday 1/5. Vocabulary Quizzes will be given on Friday 1/6.

Advanced Writing
Final submissions for 5,000 word creative stories are due on Friday 1/6.
